David Hurley (also known as DB Hurley) is the builder behind Punk, Pantasso, and Plasmate: a proof-first adaptive runtime, governed company context, and an agent-readable web. He created the Semantic Object Model (SOM) and authored the Adaptive Convergence Protocol (ACP) framework for self-evolving AI agents. His work spans production agent infrastructure, agent-web interaction, token economics, and the transition from SaaS to service-as-software business models.

Previously founded Mautic, the first open source marketing automation platform (millions of installations, acquired by Acquia in 2019). Has built 40+ ventures across AI, infrastructure, finance, education, and creative tools. Participates in the W3C Web Content for Browser and AI Community Group. Published 10 open-access works in 2026 spanning research and benchmark reports, a working paper, specifications, proposals, position papers, and a framework paper.

## Current season: coding (August 2026)

The current season is concentrated implementation: turning the agent infrastructure thesis into durable, production-ready systems. Punk and Pantasso remain in sustained production hardening; July became the busiest recorded private contribution month at 3,927, moving the private rank from #1,769 on July 17 to #1,285 on August 1.
